Saturday Showcase - Birdie

Happy Saturday to you, friends! It's time for Saturday Showcase with Ink to Paper and today we are featuring the oh so sweet set, Birdie! This set is just the sweetest and filled with all the pieces you need for building a beautiful tree branch. But it also lends itself to creating a variety of cards without using that tree branch and that's just what I did for today. My main focus is on the flowers included in the set!

I started with a white card base and die-cut an oval frame to use as a guide to stamp the flowers around. I used the oval from Geometrix: Oval, attached it temporarily to the center of my card and then stamped the flowers in the following colors … Harvest Gold, Pale Peony, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Orange Zest, Fine Line and Simply Chartreuse.

I removed that solid oval and then attached the oval border around the flowers. In the center of that I added 'FOR YOU' that was die-cut using the To Die For Sentiments: Boxed in for You Die. That was die-cut out of white and then Hawaiian Shores was added behind.

I stamped and die-cut the bird, flower and leaves and attached those just above the 'FOR YOU' and just below I stamped one of the sentiments that is included in the set. To complete my card I simply added a few clear sequins!

Thanks for visiting with me today, Enjoy your weekend!

Design Team Tips - Grateful Card Set

Good morning! It's time for another Design Team Tip with Ink to Paper. I love creating quick sets of cards for gifts, or even for myself for when a special occasion arises. With the upcoming season of being grateful and giving thanks I thought I would make a set geared towards that and what better set to create those with than Lovely Leaves and Thankful Thoughts!

When I create sets like this I always choose my colors first and use those colors to mix and match between my cards. I wanted a fall-ish color palette and chose Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet, Limeade Ice, Tropical Teal and Fine Linen.

After all my colors were picked I started all of my die-cutting, both the leaves and the large sentiments. I then stamped them all and set them aside to focus on the rest of my sentiments. Those were all stamped onto strips of white cardstock.

Now it's time for assembling each of my cards. I kept my layout simple and just mixed all of the sentiments and leaves until I was happy with the layouts.

I added a few clear sequins to each card to complete them. You could easily add envelopes and twine or ribbon around the set to create a sweet gift!

Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your Friday!

Ink to Paper Release Countdown - Day 5

Good morning and welcome to the final day of this month's Ink to Paper Release Countdown. Halloween continues today with cute packaging ideas featuring the following new products ... Monster Dies, Text Style Packaging, Halloween Fillings and Tagged & Labeled.

**All of the new products will be available August 15th at 10pm EST!**

The new Halloween packaging creates the cutest monster perfect for holding a sweet treat. The Tent Style Packaging created the body and the Monster Dies include all the elements for his face and body.

I went with a non-traditional Halloween color combination ... Aqua Mist, Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest and Hibiscus. I also created a matching tag featuring the Tagged & Labeled Die and Halloween Fillings Stamp Set.

I tucked in one of my favorites treats and that completed it!

I used the Tent Style Packaging and Monster Dies again, but this time created a card instead of packaging. I started by die-cutting his body out of Green Parakeet and then embellished again with the colors I used on my first project.

I used a sentiment from Ghouls & Ghoulies and stamped that inside his mouth to complete it!

That wraps up the countdown for me. Thank you for visiting with me during the past five days!

Ink to Paper Release Countdown - Day 4

Welcome, friends! Day 4 of the Ink to Paper Release Countdown is here. If you love creating for Halloween then you are going to be over the top excited for what we'll be sharing with you today! On the list … Ghouls & Ghoulies, Ghouls & Ghoulies Sentiments, Caught in My Web and To Die for Sentiments: Halloween!

**All of the new products will be available August 15th at 10pm EST!!**

This first card features a mix of a few different sets! I started by stamping a few of the sentiments, from Ghouls & Ghoulies Sentiments, along the right side of my card base. Orange Zest, Lilac Grace, Harvest Gold and Hawaiian Shores were the colors I used.

Next I die-cut and stamped the large web from Caught in My Web. I attached that to the upper left corner and then trimmed off the excess.

The ghost and sentiment 'Happy Haunting' are both from Ghouls & Ghoulies.

To Die for Sentiments: Halloween is up next. There are three different sentiments in this collection and I chose the BOO to create with. A perfect fit for the ghosts from Ghouls & Ghoulies!

I die-cut three out of Harvest Gold, Orange Zest and Hawaiian Shores. I die-cut three more out of white, so I could fill in the empty space of each of the letters. Before adding my die-cut words and ghosts, I attached the web I had leftover from my first card.

Have a wonderful day today and I'll see you right back here tomorrow!

Ink to Paper Release Countdown - Day 3

Welcome back for Day 3 of the Ink to Paper Release Countdown. Today I have projects to share with you that were created with a new set that I designed, It's A Sign: Love & Kindness and two more sets, Birdie and Sweet Tweets!

**All of the new products will be available August 15th at 10pm EST!**

My first card features It's A Sign: Love & Kindness. I designed the set so that it would easily coordinate with the frame from It's A Sign: Beautiful. I started by stamping flowers along the right and left side of my white card base. I used Bright Buttercup, Pure Poppy, Pale Peony and Green Parakeet.

I then stamped my sentiment and die-cut it with the coordinating It's A Sign: Love & Kindness Die Collection. I stamped and die-cut the frame from It's A Sign: Beautiful and attached that over my sentiment.

I attached the frame to the center of my card front and then finished it off with two more flowers!

For my second card I stamped the woodgrain sign in Fine Linen and then attached that over a piece of Bitty Big: Smokey Shadow paper. I dressed it up by adding more die-cut flowers and leaves.

I popped up my frame with dimensional foam and then added the picture hanger above. You could easily use the sign/frame with or without the picture hanger. This just gives you another option when creating with the set.

Up next is Birdie and Sweet Tweets ...

Birdie is a sweet set filled with all the pieces you need for building a beautiful tree branch. I created an *almost* one layer card, with the exception of the two birds.

I stamped the branch, then the leaves and then went back through and filled it in with the flowers. Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz and Bright Buttercup were the colors I used. After stamping the birdhouse, I stamped and die-cut two birds and attached those. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Tweets!

Thanks for visiting today. Have a wonderful day!

Ink to Paper Release Countdown - Day 2

Happy Sunday! I'm popping back in this morning to share more goodies with you for this month's Ink to Paper Release Countdown. Up today is On the Border: Fall Foliage Dies, Thankful Thoughts, To Die for Sentiments: Sweet Blessings and Inside Greetings: Gratitude.

**All of the new products will be available August 15th at 10pm EST!**

My first card features the To Die for Sentiments: Sweet Blessings! This is a set of two large words dies, which are one of my favorite things to create with. Thankful + Blessed are the words included. I die-cut both in Bright Buttercup, Hibiscus and Tropical Teal and then attached them to the front of my white card base.

Underneath those I stamped one of the sentiments from Inside Greetings: Gratitude and along the bottom I stamped the Loosely Woven Stamp in Hibiscus.

I also included three white die-cut hearts around my sentiments, from the Paws & Kisses Die Collection.

On the Border: Fall Foliage is up next. This is such a beautiful die collection. I used one of the dies and cut it four times out of the following colors … Melon Berry, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart and Pale Peony. I attached all four around my Kraft card base to create my framed border.

To complete my card I simply added one of the sentiments included in Thankful Thoughts set.

Thanks for popping in today! See you again tomorrow for Day 3 of the countdown!

**All of the new products will be available August 15th at 10pm EST!**

Up first is Lovely Leaves, a stunning set filled with a variety of leaves! I kept my card clean and simple and chose a blue and green color combo for my images. I started by stamping some leaves directly along the left side of my card.

To complete my first card, I added a few red and clear sequins around the leaves and sentiment.

Up next is Tag Creations: Delightful Bunch. These new stamp sets are certainly getting me excited for fall to arrive. This stamp and die collection is filled with bits and pieces for creating a basket filled with apples. So much fun!!

Throwback Thursday - Live to Inspire

Hi there, friends! Popping in today to share a card I created for Throwback Thursday with Papertrey Ink. Butterflies, inspiring words and the color pink … three of my favorite things that I used to create my card for today.

I love the Butterfly Folk Collection and used that as the focal point on my card. I die-cut a large white butterfly and on top of that I attached the word inspire in a few different colors. That was die-cut using the Words to Live By: Inspire Die

On the front of my white card base I attached a Hibiscus frame that was die-cut from the Shape Shifters: Oval 1 Die.  I then attached the butterfly in the center with dimensional foam.

To finish it, I added the rest of my sentiment and a few clear sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Melissa
