Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #18 - Watercolor

It's challenge time at Where Creativity Meets C9! Are you ready to join in? We sure hope so! This month we are revisiting one of our previous challenges and one of my favorites... WATERCOLOR! Let's jump right to my card ....

I used the Orange You Sweet set from Concord & 9th. I started by trimming a piece of watercolor paper to measure 4" x 5.25".  In black ink I stamped the 'sweet' in the center and  then a variety of the melon and citrus images around that. Then came the coloring! I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color them all in.

I stamped the rest of my sentiment in white ink onto black card-stock and adhered it with dimensional foam!

Now it's your turn to create a watercolor card and link it up on the Where Creativity Meets C9 blog. You have until February 28th to enter!

Have fun!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #2 - Watercolor

Hello, crafty friends and happy Sunday to you! Are you ready for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge? This next one is all about 'Watercolors'...something I think we all enjoy using on our projects, from time to time. I know I do!

For today, I focused on creating a pretty and colorful background for a few of my favorite Concord & 9th images to sit on. What I love about water coloring is that your really can't mess it up...you just have fun with it. And isn't that what paper-crafting is all about! ;)

After I created my background, I set it aside to let it dry and moved onto my stamping and die-cutting. I used a mix of the Beautiful You dies , Floral & Flutter dies, and the You're My Person stamp set on my card. I'll give you a step by step of what I did...

1. I stamped the sentiment (from You're My Person) in black ink and then cut it into separate strips.
2. I die cut 3 white flowers and 1 flower (from Floral & Flutter) in each of these colors....orange, pink and yellow.
3. I filled in each of the white flowers with 5 petals from the colored flowers.
4. I die cut 'beautiful' (from Beautiful You) 3 times out of white card-stock and layered them to give my sentiment more dimension.
5. Last, I assembled my card!

I hope you'll join us in the 'Watercolor' challenge! Be sure to read all of the challenge rules so you don't miss out on the chance to win a $25 gift certificate from our wonderful challenge sponsor, Concord & 9th. Also, the best entry will be asked to guest-design for a future challenge. You have until October 29th to enter!

Thinking of You Hydrangea

Happy Saturday, friends. Popping in this morning to share a quick card with you using the Mondo Hydrangea set from Ellen Hutson. I have to say that this is probably one of my favorite floral images at the moment. It has a permanent spot on my desk and has been getting lots of love.

To begin, I die cut the flower and leave using THIS watercolor paper. Next, I pulled out my watercolors and went to town coloring every inch of both pieces. After they were both dry, I stamped the outline stamp images, assembled my card and added black dots to the centers of my flowers. So happy with how this turned out...hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today. I hope your Saturday is filled with lots of happy!
