Bold Borders: Blooming

Hi there, friends! I have been having so much fun creating with the new Bold Borders: Blooming die from Papertrey Ink. I spent a little time yesterday creating a set of cards using that along with the new, and oh so beautiful, Penned Elegance sentiment set. I wanted to share those with you today!

I chose five cheerful colors to work with ... Sweet Blush, Spring Moss, Hibiscus, Lemon Tart and Aqua Mist. They scream spring, don't they? I know a lot of us are so ready for those beautiful spring days. Until they arrive we'll have to create a little spring in our crafting! :)

I didn't take step by step photos and probably should have, but will walk you through how I created these.

I love choosing colors for my projects and then mixing them up between my cards and that's just what I did on these. After die-cutting my five borders, I removed all of the negative pieces and put them in individual piles on my desk. Next, I attached all of my borders to the fronts of five white card bases. I mixed up the colorful rectangles and placed them in the centers of each card. Now for the filling in. Some may find this too tedious to do, but I find it somewhat relaxing. Crazy, I know! :) Reaching for those negative piles I made earlier, I started filling in bits and pieces of the flowers in the borders. I used a fine tip glue pen and added a bit to each section. To pick up the tiny pieces of the flowers I used a jewel picker (I linked it below). I seriously don't know how I lived without this little tool for so long. It works perfectly for projects like this!

After all of my borders were filled in I moved on to die-cutting and stamping all of my sentiments from Penned Elegance! This script font makes me swoon. It's so gorgeous and I just love how it pairs so well with the Bold Borders: Blooming die!

Love all the detail in this border die and can't wait to see the next design is in the series!I'm so happy with how these turned out. I hope you enjoyed! Thanks so much for visiting with me today!

Honey Bee Cheerful Love Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends!!
The Honey Bee Stamps Cheerful Love Release is now available in the store. To celebrate the new release, we are having a two day blog hop called Cheerful Love. So please hop along with us both days to be inspired!
Be sure to visit each blog & leave a comment to be entered to win!!! We will be giving away two $50 gift cards to the Honey Bee Stamps store, one from each day. The winners will be posted on our blog Tuesday, February 27th.

For my card today, I mixed two of the new sets together ... Penny the Platypus and Ridiculously Happy

To start, I stamped my sentiment on a piece of white cardstock in crisp black ink. Next, I chose the bunch of flowers, from Penny the Platypus, and stamped those numerous times around my sentiment.

Using the Copic markers you see in the photo above, I colored each of my flower bunches in.

After they were all colored I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to each flower. It's hard to tell from the photo, but they are shimmery and so pretty.

I added a bit of white twine around the bottom before popping it up with dimensional foam and adhering it to my kraft card base. Sweet and simple!

Now it's time to hop along and comment on each of the blogs for your chance to win one of the $50 gift certificates to the Honey Bee Stamps store!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #18 - Watercolor

It's challenge time at Where Creativity Meets C9! Are you ready to join in? We sure hope so! This month we are revisiting one of our previous challenges and one of my favorites... WATERCOLOR! Let's jump right to my card ....

I used the Orange You Sweet set from Concord & 9th. I started by trimming a piece of watercolor paper to measure 4" x 5.25".  In black ink I stamped the 'sweet' in the center and  then a variety of the melon and citrus images around that. Then came the coloring! I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color them all in.

I stamped the rest of my sentiment in white ink onto black card-stock and adhered it with dimensional foam!

Now it's your turn to create a watercolor card and link it up on the Where Creativity Meets C9 blog. You have until February 28th to enter!

Have fun!

Papertrey Ink 2018 Anniversary Stamp Set - Mixed Bouquet

Goooood morning, friends! The Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary Celebration continues and today the design team is sharing projects using this years anniversary set, Mixed Bouquet. This set is full of the most beautiful floral images, as you can see from the inspiration above! If you love flowers as much as I do, you will definitely fall in love with it!

Onto my project ... I started with die-cutting and stamping all of my flowers and leaves using the Mixed Bouquet stamp set and coordinating die collection. Flowers always call for bright and happy colors, don't you think, so I chose a few of my Papertrey favorites to work with ... Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest and Simply Chartreuse. Next, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to measure 3.75" x 5". On that, I stamped two rows of flowers above and below where I knew I was going to place my sentiment.

After finishing my flowers and leaves I moved onto the sentiment. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 1" x 3.75" and stamped it in True Black ink. I added a bit of white twine before adhering it between my row of flowers with a bit of dimensional foam. I then filled in with the die-cut flowers I created in the beginning ... popping each one up with more of the dimensional foam. That was all then adhered to a piece of Kraft cardstock. For the final touch, I added a few clear sequins randomly around my flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my cheerful card using this years anniversary set. There is so much more to see from the rest of the design team using this new set. Trust me, their projects are sooo amazing!

There is also a new challenge and a special announcement that you won't want to miss. You can read all about that, as well as how you can earn this years anniversary set, on the Papertrey Ink blog!

Thanks so much for visiting with me!
