CardMaker + Grafix Arts Blog Hop

Happy Monday and welcome to the CardMaker and Grafix Arts Blog Hop. You should have arrived here from the blog of the super talented Heather Pulvirenti. If you think you may have missed a stop, you can hop right back to the CardMaker blog where you will find the complete list of hoppers.

For today, we were asked to create a little something using one of the fantastic products from Grafix Arts. I chose to work with their vellum. I love the look of vellum on a project and don't use it as often as I would like, so this was the perfect opportunity to create with it.

I thought of butterflies instantly and chose the Up the Happy set from Ellen Hutson to work with. After die-cutting multiple vellum butterflies, using the butterfly from the Up the Happy die collection, I stamped each using Versamark and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I then colored them in using Copic markers, giving them a pretty stained glass look.

Here's a closer look. I just love the way these turned out!! After attaching all of the colorful butterflies to my card front, I added sequins to the centers of each one, and lastly stamped my sentiment.

Your next stop in the hop is Katie Gehring.
You can find the complete list of hoppers on the CardMaker blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day!

Up the Happy - Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge

This month the Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge is all about one of my favorite colors ... Aqua! Of course, I had to create a little something and enter.

Up the Happy is the stamp set I inked up for my card. I started with a white base that I die cut using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I created my balloon cluster using the masking technique and then colored them in using watercolors. I decided to dress up a few of the balloons by using my white gel pen to add stripes and dots.

To fancy up my card a little bit more, I die cut a butterfly using the coordinating Up the Happy die collection and then stamped and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. To finish, I added a few sparkly sequins and clear drops and then attached it all to my aqua card base using white dimensional foam.

So happy you popped in today. I hope your day is wonderful!

Curtain Call Challenge - Happy Birthday, Lovely

Starting off this week by joining in on my first Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. My card today is similar to THIS card I showed a few days ago, but it doesn't have quite as much stitching. I thought this would be perfect to enter into the Woven challenge.

I starting by stamping 'lovely' in a coordinating ink color that matched the thread I was going to use. In this case it was Hero Arts Butter Bar. Next came the stitching. After that was complete, I moved onto stamping my flowers and coloring them in using the Copic colors you see listed below. To fancy each of the flowers up, I used my white gel pen and added dots and stripes. I love the result of this and can see myself doing this a lot in the future. For the final touches, I added my leaves, hearts and finished off my sentiment with 'Happy Birthday'. You can find the complete list of products I used listed below.

Thanks for visiting with me today. I hope you enjoy your Monday!

This card features a colorful technique that I have done a few times now and absolutely love the outcome. Just a die cut sentiment and Copic markers (or any color medium) are all you need! :)

Enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday, Lovely

I have something a little different to share today. I'm one of those people who likes to keep her hands busy in the evening, while binging Netflix. It's hard to stamp when you are curled up on the couch, but I still wanted to work on a card. I've always been a fan of cross-stitching, something I don't do nearly as much as I'd like. I thought, why not combine the two!

I created a few card panels using two sets from Concord & 9th ... Hello Lovely and Wildflower. I stamped them in the colors that I wanted to stitch them in, so that there wouldn't be any noticeable color popping out underneath my stitches. Next, using my paper piercer, I poked holes along each of the images.

Now for all of the stitching. I'm not going to lie...it was a little time consuming, but it did get me through about 4 episodes of Glee.

After all of my stitching was done I die cut leaves using Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms die collection. I scored them down the center, gave them a little bend and then attached them to my flowers. And lastly came the buttons and sentiment!

Thank you for stopping by today ... I hope you enjoyed this fun twist on my card-making. I still have 3 more cards to share and will be sharing those very soon. Stay tuned!

Have a wonderful day!

Love You

Happy Valentine's Day, friends. Popping on today to share a quick card with you in honor of this love filled day. We are buried under 40" of snow, so today will be spent with my love, cleaning up the mess outside. And tomorrow looks like another snow day for us, with another 10-14" of the fluffy white stuff headed our way. Can I just say that I have never been more excited for summer to arrive.

Onto my card...this took no time to create. I used the Heart Smile stamp set, along with the Heartstrings die collection. I simply inked up the 'L' and the 'VE' in 'LOVE' and stamped that down the center of my card front, using the colors you see listed below. Next, I went back through and stamped all of the hearts. I wanted to give one of the hearts a bit of dimension, so I die cut and stamped the yellow one and adhered it with dimensional foam. And lastly, the 'you'...that was stamped using the Sophisticated Script stamp set.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope your day is filled with lots of love and happiness!

P.S. Don't forget about the Where Creativity Meets C9 'LOVE' challenge that is going on right now. We would absolutely love it if you joined us! :)

CardMaker + Lawn Fawn Blog Hop

Happy Friday, everyone and welcome to the CardMaker and Lawn Fawn Blog Hop. I'm so happy to be posting today and sharing two cards with you using the most adorable set from Lawn Fawn ... Love Letters. I must say that I am completely smitten with this set. The sweet little birds and those envelopes ... LOVE!

My first card features a little masking...something I haven't done in quite some time. I stamped the heart envelope on a post it note, cut it out and then used it as my guide for stamping my envelopes along the left side of my card.

Next came the little bird and pen, that were both die cut and colored in using Copics. I stamped my sentiment and then attached those just above, using dimensional foam. Along the right side, I added a strip of red plaid paper, from the Perfectly Plaid Christmas collection. And lastly, a few sequins.

More sweet birds and envelopes on card #2. I used the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables for my images and sentiment to sit on and more of the red plaid paper along the top and bottom of my card.

I love the script sentiments and love how they fit perfectly on the paper inside the envelope. Such a fun set that's not only perfect for creating Valentine's cards, but so much more!

Your next stop in the hop is Kat Benjamin.
You can find the complete list of hoppers on the CardMaker blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit with me today. Enjoy the hop and have a wonderful day!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #6 - Love

Who's ready for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge? I know I am! I was so excited when I saw the theme for this month... LOVE! There are so many new products that have recently been released from Concord & 9th that will be absolutely perfect for this month's challenge. For my card today, I used a mix of a old and new die collections to create my love themed card.

There is absolutely no stamping, just lots of die-cutting. I started with my flowers and butterfly, which were die-cut using the Floral & Flutter dies and then water-colored. I set those aside to dry and then moved onto my sentiment. The 'love' is from the Love Always Frame dies and the 'you' is from Beautiful You.

After attaching those pieces to my card front, I added die-cut hearts to the centers of the flowers and butterfly. The small heart is from Beautiful You and the large one is from Heartstrings. Lastly, I added a few sequins to complete it.

I hope you'll join us in this month's LOVE challenge! Be sure to read all of the challenge rules so you don't miss out on the chance to win a $25 gift certificate from our wonderful challenge sponsor, Concord & 9th. Also, the best entry will be asked to guest-design for a future challenge. You have until February 28th to enter!

Thank you for stopping by. Happy creating!
