Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #11 - Embossing

It's time for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge. Do you do a lot of embossing? I don't, so this month was certainly a challenge for me. I chose to do a little heat embossing for today and used Concord & 9th's Lily stamp set to work with.

To begin, I cut 4 strips of colorful card-stock for my image to sit on. After stamping and embossing my Lily, I attached the image to the front of my card base using dimensional foam. My sentiment is also from the Lily stamp set. To complete it, I added a few colorful and clear sequins around my flower and sentiment. Sweet, simple and colorful!

Ok friends, it's your turn now. Time to pull out all of  your embossing tools and get busy. I can't wait to see what you create. Be sure to post it to the Where Creativity Meets C9 page before July 28th for your chance to win a gift certificate to Concord & 9th.

Happy creating!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #10 - Layered

Happy Friday to you, crafty friends! Are you ready for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge? This month our challenge is 'Layered'. I'm not going to lie, layered cards are not something I'm totally comfortable with. I'm usually a CAS, and a lot of times, one layer card making kinda girl. But this was a fun change for me!

To begin, I cut strips of colorful card-stock ( .50" x 4.25" ) and covered the front of my card base with them. Next, I trimmed a  piece of white card-stock slightly smaller than my card base ( 3.75" x 5" ) and then using the Layers of Love die collection, cut the heart out. My sentiment was stamped using the Kindhearted stamp set. I adhered that to my card front and then moved onto the flower.

The flower and leaves were die-cut using the Blossom die. I adhered those to the side of my heart using a little dimensional foam. And lastly, I added a few sequins randomly around my heart, flower and sentiment.

I'm so happy you stopped by and I'm really excited to see what you create for this 'Layered' challenge ... I hope you will join us. You have until June 29th to link your projects and enter for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Concord & 9th. Have fun and happy creating!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #9 - Florals

Happy Tuesday to you, crafty friends. It's time for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge. Can you believe we are on Challenge #9? Time certainly flies when you are having fun. Our theme for this month is one of my favorites ... florals!

Today is also the day that Concord & 9th has their new release. All of their peeks have been nothing short of amazing!

They have created some beautiful floral sets. For today, I chose the Wildflower set to work with. This card was simple to create, but I did fussy cut all of the flowers so it took a little extra time.

I started by stamping all of my flower stems along the bottom of my white card base. I set that aside and on a separate piece of white card-stock, I stamped all my flowers five times ... two of the large flowers and three of the smaller. They were all colored in with Copics and then I cut them all out. I wanted to add a little dimension to my card, so I adhered dimensional foam on the back of each of the flowers before attaching them to my card base.

My sentiment was stamped on black card-stock and also attached with dimensional foam. To complete my card I added a few clear droplets to the center of each flower.

Thanks for visiting with me today. I'm excited to see all of the floral cards that you create for this challenge ... I sure hope you'll join us! You have until May 29th to link your projects and enter for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Concord & 9th.

Have fun and happy creating!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #8 - One Layer

Happy Sunday, friends. It's time for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge. A new challenge also means a new release from Concord & 9th. They have been giving peeks on social media over the past few days and everything they have been showing looks fantastic.

This month's challenge is all about creating a One Layer card ... one of my favorites to create! I chose Wildflower and Painted Thank You to work with today and did a little masking to create this colorful 'Thank You' card.

I started by cutting a piece of printer paper to measure 2.75 x 4 and placed that front and center on my card base. I used a couple pieces of washi tape to hold it in place while I did my stamping around it. I stamped all of my images in black ink around the paper, and then removed it from the front of my card and started coloring all of my images. To finish it I used a fine tip black pen to create my frame on the inside of my flowers and then stamped my sentiment. Super easy to create!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #7 - CASE A Designer

Hey there, crafty friends! I'm so excited that another Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge is upon us, aren't you? This month our challenge is to CASE a Designer. I feel so fortunate to be working with such talented creatives on this team, it was hard for me to choose just one card, because I love them all.

I chose to CASE Lindsey's 'Happy Day' card from her Love Notes post. I just love the sweet simplicity of this card and couldn't wait to create one similar to hers.

No stamping on my card today, just lots of die-cutting. I began by die-cutting the banner from Happy Day, and adhering it to my card front with dimensional foam. Next, I die-cut the hearts, from the Beautiful You die collection, and adhered those to my banner. I used the same die collection to die-cut the word 'beautiful' and attached that just above the banner.

And last but not least, 'friend' was die-cut using the Thinking of You die collection. Sweet + simple!

I'm so happy you stopped by to visit with me today. I'm really excited to see what you create for this challenge ... 'CASE a Designer' ... I hope you will join us in the fun. You have until March 29th to link your projects and enter for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Concord & 9th. Have fun and happy creating!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #6 - Love

Who's ready for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge? I know I am! I was so excited when I saw the theme for this month... LOVE! There are so many new products that have recently been released from Concord & 9th that will be absolutely perfect for this month's challenge. For my card today, I used a mix of a old and new die collections to create my love themed card.

There is absolutely no stamping, just lots of die-cutting. I started with my flowers and butterfly, which were die-cut using the Floral & Flutter dies and then water-colored. I set those aside to dry and then moved onto my sentiment. The 'love' is from the Love Always Frame dies and the 'you' is from Beautiful You.

After attaching those pieces to my card front, I added die-cut hearts to the centers of the flowers and butterfly. The small heart is from Beautiful You and the large one is from Heartstrings. Lastly, I added a few sequins to complete it.

I hope you'll join us in this month's LOVE challenge! Be sure to read all of the challenge rules so you don't miss out on the chance to win a $25 gift certificate from our wonderful challenge sponsor, Concord & 9th. Also, the best entry will be asked to guest-design for a future challenge. You have until February 28th to enter!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #5 - Try Something New

Happy New Year, friends! And happy first Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge of 2017. :) 'Try Something New' is our theme this month and I am so excited to share a project using one of Concord & 9th's NEW stamp + die collections with you today. I can already tell you that 'Love Always' is going to be getting a lot of love from me. Such a sweet set of images and dies. All of their new products are now available for purchase on their website! YAY!

The Love die in this set is just like the Happy & Kind Card Frame dies. I die cut 4 total, three in white cardstock and one in pink. I then snipped the edges off each of them and placed them on my card front, connecting the l's and the e's...so it looks like continuous cursive writing.

Next, I moved onto the banner portion...'always'. There are two banner die cuts in the set, 'always' and 'note'. I chose to use the 'always' for my project today. As you can see, I die cut it in a variety of colors and then filled in the white banner with the colorful letters.

I did the same to my envelope and then added a few sequins for a final touch!

Where Creativity Meets C9 - Challenge #4 - Winter

Hi there, friends! Here we are on the 9th of the month and that means it's time for the next Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge. This month's theme is 'Winter'. There are so many different ways you could create a winter themed card, but for me the first thing that came to mind is snow and snowflakes. For my card, I chose to work with the JOY stamp and die set, along with the Take A Bough die collection.

I started with a simple white card base and created a border along the bottom and top with strips of card-stock and patterned paper. Next, I die cut the word JOY and stamped the 'J' and the 'Y' in black ink. Then came the boughs. I knew I wanted to replace the 'O' in JOY with a snowflake, so I moved on to water-coloring parts of my boughs. After those were dry, I assembled my snowflake and started adhering everything to my card front. For a final touch, I added a hot pink button to the center of my flake.
