Transformation Tuesday - Happy Spring

Good morning, friends and welcome to Transformation Tuesday with Papertrey Ink! Today is my first time hosting and I'm excited to share my card 'redo' with you. You can find the card that inspired me at the end of my post!

I love a simple design with lots of color and decided to recreate the design below to fit with the upcoming spring season. I stamped images, from Bunny Blessings and A Bit More: Bunny Blessings, onto strips of colorful cardstock and then added dimensional foam to attach them to my card base.

After the colorful strips were attached, I stamped my sentiment onto a strip of white and attached that just below. I stamped and die-cut the bunny out of Sweet Blush cardstock and then attached her just next to my sentiment.

A flower for my bunny and some hot pink sequins complete it!

My inspiration … you can find my original post right HERE

Now it's your turn to do a little transformation of your own. Be sure to link up your creation on the Papertrey Ink Blog for your chance to win a gift certificate!

Thank you for stopping by!

Melissa

Papertrey Ink Design Team Tips - Stenciling With Bold Borders

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm sharing a cheerful card featuring a fun background I created with the Bold Borders: Polka Dots die from Papertrey Ink. I adore these dies and am always looking for different ways to extend the use of products I have on hand. I thought this die was the perfect product to do just that and create my own stenciled background.

All I used to create my stencil was cardstock and the die, that's it! After I die-cut my 4.25 x 5.5 panel, I simply placed it over the front of my card base and taped it down, around the edges, to hold it in place.

Now for the fun stuff. Using Nuvo Embellishment Mousse I simply filled in all of those polka dots with three different colors. I find the best coverage for this is to use my fingertip. There may be a better way, but this is what works best for me. And because it was card-stock that I used to create my stencil, and it wasn't securely attached to the front of my card base (only the edges), you might find that it doesn't cover perfectly and bleeds underneath the dots a bit. I'm completely ok with that and love how it has somewhat of a rough look.

After the mousse was dry, I moved onto adding my flowers and sentiment.

I used the Botanical Bounty Stamp Set with the Botanical Bounty Die Collection, along with the Botanical Bounty Sentiments Stamp Set and Botanical Bounty Sentiments Die Collection. Melon Berry, Orange Zest, Aqua Mist and Raspberry Fizz were the colors I used for the flowers and Green Parakeet was used for the leaves.

Here's a peek at my card before I added all of the pretty little flowers! Not completely perfect, but perfect enough for me. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Melissa

Papertrey Ink - January Release Countdown - Day 5

Good morning, friends! We've reached the end of the January Papertrey Ink Release Countdown and we're ending with two beautiful new floral sets, as well as a fun background text set. I love creating with flowers, LOOOOOOOVE, so I was super excited to get these in my hands and do a little colorful creating with them.

**All of the new products will be available January 15th at 10pm EST!**

Up first is the new Circle of Love and Vintage Type background set. I started with a white card base and stamped the background along the right side. I used Pale Peony, Hibiscus and Raspberry Fizz to create my ombre look.

I then stamped the floral wreath in the center and filled in the flowers and leaves with their coordinating images. I finished it off with one of the sentiments and a few colorful sequins.

Together Forever is the featured set on card #2. I chose to keep my card clean and simple and *almost* one layer. I used the following colors to stamp all of the flowers … Bright Buttercup, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian shores and Green Parakeet. Best person ever … adore this sentiment. I stamped that on black, in Fresh Snow, and then popped it up with dimensional foam!

Such amazing new products this month, right? My goodness the designers did a fantastic job. Now it's time to start preparing your list … tomorrow night, January 15th, at 10pm EST is when everything will be available in the Papertrey Ink shop.

Thanks SO much for visiting with me over the past five days, and if you left a comment, thank you, thank you, thank you! I always appreciate you taking the time to do so!

Have a wonderful day!

xo,
Melissa

Papertrey Ink - January Release Countdown - Day 4

Welcome back to Day 4 of this month's Papertrey Ink Release Countdown. Are you ready for a couple of projects featuring the cutest unicorn ever?! You are going to love, love, love Potbellies: Unicorn. We're also featuring Potbellies: Everyday Sentiments and Words to Live By: Smile today!

**All of new products will be available January 15th at 10pm EST!**

There are so many ways you could use the Potbellies: Unicorn die. Cards, tags, gift packaging and the list goes on. For both of my projects today, I created a card.

Card #1 also features the Words to Live By: Smile Stamp Set and Die. I started by die-cutting my unicorn out of white cardstock and then used the following colors for the bits and pieces to embellish her … Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Green Parakeet and Pure Poppy.

I just love all of the little pieces included with Potbellies: Unicorn. After I had all of her pieces in place I moved onto my sentiment. I die-cut her belly using the 'smile' die and then made a colorful inlaid using all of the colors I mentioned above.

Card #2 was a mix of the unicorn with the new Potbellies: Everyday Sentiments Stamp Set. I used one of the sentiments, Happy Birthday, and stamped it four times around her belly. On the inside of her belly I added a heart from the From the Heart Die Collection.

I gave her wings and added a flower to the heart to complete it.

That wraps up Day 4 for me. Just one more day of peeks to go before you can finalize your wish list and get ready to shop. Thanks so much for visiting with me! :)

See you tomorrow!

Papertrey Ink - January Release Countdown - Day 3

Happy weekend to you, friends! Are you ready for more Papertrey Ink goodness? Today we have so much to share with you, including all of the following new products …  Glorious Globes: January, Sentiment Staples: Just A Note and Bold Borders: Arabesque.

**All of the new products will be available January 15th at 10pm EST!**

Up first I'm mixing Sentiment Staples: Just A Note with the beautiful new Bold Borders: Arabesque. I went with a green and blue color combo using Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Limeade Ice and Simply Chartreuse. I cut four strips of each color and attached them diagonally across the front of my card before placing the Bold Borders over the top.

I added my sentiment by mixing the 'you' from Bold Borders with the rest of the sentiment from Sentiment Staples: Just A Note. A flower and leaves, from Botanical Bounty ll, complete it.

Glorious Globes: January is up next. I chose to use the 'love' circle in the set as the focus on my card. After stamping it in a variety of cheery colors, I added a few hearts around them, from Bold Borders: Love.

I used the Skinny Mini Banners and a bit of white twine to complete it!

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing part of your Saturday with me, I appreciate you! For more inspiration today be sure to visit the Papertrey Ink blog!

Papertrey Ink - January Release Countdown - Day 2

Hey, everyone! Welcome back for Day 2 of the January Papertrey Ink Release Countdown. I'm thrilled that I get to showcase two new products for you today … Frame It Out: What's Inside? and the Nesting Basics: Oval Dies.

**All of the new products will be available January 15th at 10pm EST!**

The new Frame It Out: What's Inside? is such a fun and sweet little set. It even has a coordinating die which makes creating with it even more fun and versatile. You can see the die in the photo above and that's what I used, along with the new Nesting Basics: Oval Dies, to create my first card.

I started by die-cutting one of the larger ovals in the die collection. I then used a Nesting Basics: Pierced Oval Dies (introduced yesterday) to impress the inside.

Next, using the Frame It Out: What's Inside? Die, I die-cut the inside of the oval. I then created a colorful inlay by die-cutting that same image in a variety of colors.

The sweet bear, from Bear Hugs, was placed in the center of the oval frame and he's holding one of the many sentiments included in the set.

I used the large oval pattern image on card #2. I stamped it once in Hawaiian Shores and then built my pattern out from there using the individual images.

I mentioned there are a variety of cheerful sentiments included in the set. Here I used a few of them together to create my greeting!

To add a little 'extra' embellishment, I added a few white flowers, from Butterfly Blooms, and leaves from Botanical Bounty.

I went a bit retro on my last card for today. My background was created by die-cutting and layering the Nesting Basics: Oval and Nesting Basics: Pierced Oval Dies. After layering and attaching them all to my card front, I moved onto my sentiment.

I did a little mixing here … some old with the new. I used the Love Die and From the Heart Dies to create the 'LOVE' part of my sentiment and finished it off my adding the rest of my sentiment above and below that.

Well, friends, I hope you enjoyed what I created for today and hope I've inspired you a bit when it comes to creating with these wonderful new products. Head on over to the Papertrey Ink blog where there is so much more to see from the design team, as well as a few more goodies that are being introduced today.

Papertrey Ink - January Release Countdown - Day 1

Hey there, friends! I'm excited to kick off this month's Papertrey Ink Release Countdown. This month is filled with so many great new products and I can't wait to share what I've created with you. To kick off Day 1 I have a card created with the next addition to the Corner Adorner series, as well as the newest Shape Shifters Die. Let's jump right in!

**All of the new products will be available January 15th at 10pm EST!**

To begin, I stamped the new Corner Adorner: January set on two of the corners of my white card base. The colors I used … Orange Zest, Hibiscus and Harvest Gold. Next, I die-cut the Shape Shifters: Square 4 Die out of Hibiscus. I die-cut the die two more times, one in Orange Zest and the other in Harvest Gold, to create the flower in the center of the Hibiscus square.

I popped that up on the center of my card and then added the sentiment, also part of the Corner Adorner: January set.

And that's it! Sweet and simple for me today, but there is still soooo much more to see from the rest of the team. Pop on over to the Papertrey Ink blog to see what they have to share with you!

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you right back here tomorrow!

Papertrey Ink - December Release Countdown - Day 5

Happy Friday to you! Today is an exciting day, as we have reached Day 5 of the countdown and tomorrow you will be able to purchase these new products for yourself. Before you finalize your list, we have a few more products to share with you today … Bear Hugs, Shape Shifters: Oval 4 and You Make My Heart Soar!

**All of the new products will be available December 15th at 10pm EST!**

Bear Hugs is such a sweet set! I love how he was designed to hold multiple images in the set. I chose the flowers for him to hold and then embellished around him with the heart image.

I used the Shape Shifters: Oval 4 die as my base and popped him right up in the center.

My final card for this countdown was created with You Make My Heart Soar. A super sweet heart shaped balloon set. I started by stamping one of the heart bundle images and created a border around the outer edge of my card in the following colors … Hawaiian Shores, Bright Buttercup, Green Parakeet, Raspberry Fizz and Lavender Moon.

I stamped the balloon strings and sentiment and then attached 3 die-cut hearts balloons and a few sequins.

That completes this month's countdown for me. I hope what I've shared inspires you just a smidge when it comes to creating with all of these wonderful new products. You can find all of the details on everything introduced today right HERE!

Have a wonderful day, friends!

Papertrey Ink - December Release Countdown - Day 4

Good morning, friends! Day 4 of the Papertrey Ink countdown is here and we have even more loved filled goodies for you today. In the line-up is Corner Adorner: December, XO Skinny Mini, Bold Borders: Love Die & Glorious Globes: December.

**All of the new products will be available December 15th at 10pm EST!**

Up first is the XO Skinny Mini mixed with Corner Adorner: December. I wasn't quite sure where this card was going when I started. I chose my colors and got my stamp sets ready and just went with it. The colors I used … Melon Berry, Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet, Pure Poppy and Sweet Blush.

I started by stamping the hearts, from XO Skinny Mini, in three colors, in the center of my card. Then I used one of the borders in the Corner Adorner: December set and started building a border around my hearts. I love the quirky scallops in this new set! There are two of them and they are so cute and fun!

To finish my first card I stamped the sentiment, also from Corner Adorner: December, and added a few sequins.

My second card for today features the new Bold Borders: Love mixed with Glorious Globes: December. Again, I used the inlay technique to make my card super cheery and colorful. My colors for this card … Orange Zest, Harvest Gold, Pale Peony, Hibiscus, Melon Berry and a pop of Hawaiian Shores peeking out from the back.

I stamped one of the globes directly in the center of the white and then die-cut a separate one and popped it up with dimensional foam.

I sure hope you enjoyed my projects for today. There is only one day left and then you can do a little early Christmas shopping for yourself! :) Until then, be sure and visit the Papertrey Ink blog for more details on all of these new products.

Have a wonderful day!

Papertrey Ink - December Release Countdown - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of this month's Papertrey Ink Release Countdown. There have been some pretty amazing new products introduced so far and today it continues. I have the pleasure of sharing three cards with you using the following new products … From the Heart and Sentiments Staples: I Love You! If you love creating love themed cards as much as I do then these are going to be a must have in your stamp  collection!

**All of the new products will available December 15th at 10pm EST!**

Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush, Hawaiian Shores and Pure Poppy are the colors I chose for my first card. I started by first die-cutting a Pierced Feature Frame: Rectangle out of Sweet Blush cardstock and stamped the 'xo' image, in From the Heart, around the entire rectangle.

I just love the shape of the hearts from the From the Heart die collection! There are four included in the set and I used two of them to die-cut my hearts. I added white Nuvo drops and to create my polka dots on each one.

This sentiment is from Sentiment Staples: I Love You

I went sweet and simple for card number two. I die-cut a heart using the largest heart die and stamped multiple sentiments on that, using the From the Heart Stamp Set.

I attached that heart to a white card base and then die-cut a smaller heart, out of Raspberry Fizz, and attached it with dimensional foam.

I added my sentiment across and finished it with a few clear sequins.

And the last, and probably my favorite card of the day, is this hugs card. It's always nice when you can mix previously released products with the newly released, don't you agree?! I had a few images left over from last month and decided to use them on this card.

I attached a piece of Orange Zest, Hibiscus and Melon Berry across the center of my white card base and then stamped a border along the top and bottom using the script 'xo' in the From the Heart set. I then die-cut three white hearts and attached those to the center of each of those colors.

I had 'hugs' leftover from last month's release of Bold Borders: Polka Dots. I added the rest of my sentiment and a few colorful sequins to complete my final card.

Visit the Papertrey Ink Blog for all of the product details and more projects using these new sets!

Thanks for visiting!
